“Full Contact Fishing” - The World’s First Interactive Fishing Show

Toronto, ON - December 15, 2005 - Leafs TV’s special season of “Full Contact Fishing” is taking interactivity to a whole new level. Starting Saturday, January 7th at 12:30 PM ET/PT, viewers are being given the chance to interact with “Full Contact Fishing” online. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops and enabled by Desktopbox Interactive, “Full Contact Fishing” enables viewers to use home computers to interact with synchronized content related to on-air programming and advertising.

Desktopbox software automatically selects web pages a user might want to see while watching a TV program, using search and advertising technologies to enhance users' television viewing experience. Online, viewers are able to surf as they receive query free searches, trivia, polls, fishing information and more. With their VOD PVR players, viewers can interact even further with exclusive bonus content. Informative and entertaining, Desktopbox fits with key market trends that are shaping user behavior while watching TV.

“We know our viewers are hungry for new ways to interact with our programming,” notes “Full Contact Fishing” host Kris King. “This cross-platform experience allows us to expand our content and give benefits for our advertising partners.”

“We’re witnessing an increased demand from broadcast providers for solutions that extend their programming across broadband platforms,” added Mike Church, President of Desktopbox. “Our work with Leafs TV and “Full Contact Fishing” not only combines the leading distribution channels – television, and online – but also enhances the on-air programming through synchronized interactivity.”

“The consumer TV viewing experience is rapidly evolving and Dome Productions is leading the way with eTV, to connect Canadians to the power and simplicity of enhanced television,” says Bruce Gaum, Manager of Technology & New Business Development at Dome. “The growing popularity of eTV is a sign that Dome customers are eager to discover new services and content which turn the traditional internet connected PC into a tool that controls a more compelling viewing experience.”

About Kris King – Host of “Full Contact Fishing”

Kris ‘Kinger’ King, was born in Hornepayne, Ontario. His dad, a conductor for the CN Railway, built a log cottage on Larkin Lake, where Kinger’s love of fishing was born. When Kris was 8, Maple Leaf legend Darryl Sittler came to town to speak at a local banquet and dazzled the youngster with tales of life in the NHL. Young Kris was motivated and 13 years later joined the Detroit Red Wings. Kinger would go on to play 14 more years with the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Black Hawks and as the final captain of the Winnipeg Jets. His rugged style and fierce determination won the hearts of fans wherever he played and his dedication to charity work off the ice culminated in his winning the 1996 NHL King Clancy Memorial Award for Leadership and Humanitarian Contribution.

Kris King’s NHL career stats: 66 goals and 85 assists in 849 games. 2030 penalty minutes too. Good thing he can fish.

Each week Kinger is joined by a different celebrity All-Star Angler as they fish the hot-spots of the Western Hemisphere.

“Full Contact Fishing” - Lots of fish, lots of fun and thankfully, no refs.
